We realize that as a
parent, you have sent your son to college to get ahead in life. And by joining
Lambda Chi Alpha, we believe that he will benefit from his college experience
even further. Here's why:
For starters, we
think that if your son had to join a fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha would be his
best choice. In the last 20 years, our chapter has made some impressive accomplishments
and it continues to perform well in many areas of
operations. You'll likely appreciate that our
chapter's average GPA has consistently been higher than the All Men's Average,
meaning that your son has a better chance of earning a higher GPA by joining
our chapter than if he decided to not join at all.
The best part about
having your son join Lambda Chi Alpha is that he will gain confidence and
leadership skills that will help him for years to come. In addition to
encouraging your son to become active in extracurricular activities on campus,
there are plenty of opportunities for him to become involved within our
chapter. We have more than a dozen elected positions. If you think about it, a
fraternity is really a small nonprofit organization that is managed generally
by 18-to-22-year-olds.
Since 1909, Lambda
Chi Alpha has had many great leaders and successful individuals emerge from
its ranks. Here is just a brief list of some of our most notable alumni:
Harry S. Truman,
33rd President of the United States; The Hon. Harry A. Blackmun, Associate
Justice, the U.S. Supreme Court; The Hon. Howell Heflin, U.S. Senator for
Alabama; B.F. Skinner, renowned psychologist; Lt. Gen. James H. Doolittle,
World War II flying hero; Henry P. Iba, three-time U.S. Olympic basketball
coach & member of the Basketball Hall of Fame; Bill Rasmusen, Founder of
ESPN; Larry Brown, NBA Coach; Rick Pitino, college basketball coach at
Louisville; Will A. Geer, Emmy Award winning actor; Chester Gould, creator of
Dick Tracy; Rob Walton, CEO of Wal-Mart; John S. Reed, Former CEO Citigoup
Bank; F. Duane Ackerman, CEO of BellSouth; Jim Perdue, CEO of Perdue Farms;
William Dillard, Founder of Dillard's department stores; David A. Neuman,
President of Walt Disney Network Television and Touchstone Television; Capt.
Richard Richards, Space Shuttle Commander, NASA.
This really is just
a brief list as we are omitting a half dozen state supreme court justices, a
dozen Fortune 500 CEOs, a handful of Congressmen and Senators, and a long
history of professional athletes.
In summary, Lambda
Chi Alpha is a very successful fraternity (the third largest of more than 60
fraternities) that produces many members who become successful members of
society. We hope that your son will become a dynamic part of our organization
and benefits from his membership. Should you have any further questions,
please feel free to contact
