Chapter Achievements

1993

Academic Achievement Award from the General Fraternity (for maintaining the highest GPA of all Greek-letter organizations at AUM for the entire year) at the Dixie Leadership Conclave in New Orleans, Louisiana.

1994

Awarded the Tozier Brown Public Affairs Award - Outstanding Community Service Project - by the General Fraternity at the General Assembly in Indianapolis, Indiana.

1996

- Awarded the Largest Delegation Award at the Dixie Leadership Conclave in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

- The chapter had the third largest collection of food of all Lambda Chi chapters in the North American Food Drive with a total of 34,002 lbs. collected.

1997

The chapter had the second largest collection of food of all Lambda Chi chapters in the North American Food Drive with a total of 79,087 lbs. collected.

1999

- The chapter received a Recruitment Award for outstanding recruitment efforts and programming at the Leadership Seminar in Bowling Green, Ohio.

- The chapter had the 11th largest collection of all Lambda Chi chapters in the North American Food Drive with a total of 53,962 lbs of food collected.

2000

The chapter had the 3rd largest collection of all Lambda Chi chapters in the North American Food Drive with a total of 135,600 lbs of food collected.

2001

The chapter had the 5th largest collection of all Lambda Chi chapters in the North American Food Drive with a total of 133,232 lbs of food collected.

2002

The chapter had the 18th largest collection of all Lambda Chi chapters in the North American Food Drive with a total of 47,635 lbs of food collected.

2003

The chapter had the 19th largest collection of all Lambda Chi chapters in the North American Food Drive with a total of 39,893 lbs of food collected.

2004

The chapter had the 25th largest collection of all Lambda Chi chapters in the North American Food Drive with a total of 28,470 lbs of food collected.

2005

The chapter received a campus involvement award at the Leadership Seminar in College Park, Maryland.

2006

Individual Member Achievements

Dr. William O. "Bill" Nowell, Jr.

Served as both the chapter advisor and house corporation president for Phi-Kappa Zeta for several years.

Received the General Fraternity's Order of Merit (the highest award that Lambda Chi Alpha bestows on an alumnus) at the 1994 General Assembly in Indianapolis.

Recently retired from the AUM faculty.

 

Perry Haynes

Charter member of the chapter.

Served the chapter has High Gamma and Kappa.

Served on the chapter's alumni association and as the chapter's advisor for several years after Dr. Nowell.

 

Donnie Sasser

Served as the chapter's advisor.

 

Brian Hale

Served the chapter as High Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Rho, and as a member of the Executive Committee.  Also served as the chapter's advisor.
